The New York Times Real Estate section had an excellent report recently on the latest news in public school zoning. This is the first year that many public schools may cap their kindergarten classes--although the DOE says this is the last option and one they will try to avoid.
While The New York Times also reports on "the sudden charm of public school", this problem of some zoned kids not knowing until summer where they are going to school is not so charming at all. I am finding that my private school educational consulting clients are applying to more private schools next year because they are concerned about this possibility. And my client schedule is as full as ever.
